Intro: Game Theme

Red Tiger Gaming has made a huge splash on the iGaming industry. Their slots show that a talented team of developers can break through and rise to popularity. Interesting themes, fun special features and great rewards are all important to earn some prizes. However, while this game follows some of those trends, it goes in a different direction when it comes to variance and payouts. Available special features include the King’s Crown bonus and the Reel King special feature.

Reel King Mega is a standard classic-themed title for the most part. The developers get around making it feel generic by adding a background image and a mascot. Neither of these are revolutionary by themselves. The background seems to be set in a forest somewhere, as we can see trees and a mountain. The whole thing then gets a red filter applied to it to give it some unique visuals. Then, just to make it stand out even more, the developer added a bunch of gold coins!

How it Works

You play this release on a five-reel board with twenty set paylines. We cannot turn these individual paylines on or off; they are fixed in place. Wins are awarded when punters find three or more matching symbols next to one another, starting with the leftmost reel. All winning combinations have to follow one of the twenty active paylines to grant the cash prize. Red Tiger Gaming uses their standard layout in this title, which works quite nicely. It allows us to spin the reels, set up Auto Play and Turbo Mode, change our bet and gamble wins.

Icon designs are a mix of playing card royals and various fruit symbols. We would usually not be all too pleased with this selection, but it suits the theme this slot is going for. The most valuable icon is a bag full of golden coins! A jester’s hat with the word Wild written on it serves as the Wild. Players may also occasionally come across the King’s Crown bonus symbol.

Bonus Rounds

The crown icon has a chance of appearing on any spin. It drops on the reels, bouncing around and touching symbols as it does. Any icon the crown makes contact with transforms into a Wild for that spin. A new payout is then granted with these new Wilds in place.

Every spin also has a chance of turning the background colour of each reel gold instead of blue. When all five reels are covered in gold, the Reel King special feature is activated. The monarch of the reels will descend on the playing field, occupying one of the five reels. On his stomach, we have three functional mini reels. On these reels, blue, yellow and red sevens can appear. Your payout during this bonus varies depending on what you draw. Mixed sevens pay 2x, three blue sevens pay 5x, yellows pay 10x and reds grant 25x. Your first spin on these mini reels is guaranteed to win. Once you draw a blank, the special feature ends.

We understand that low volatility releases are not everyone’s cup of tea. Reel King Mega is specific in that aspect. Rather than aiming for fans of big volatilities and massive wins, it opts for a more casual audience. The special features are interesting, and the best win you could get from them is 500x your total stake. If that sounds like something you would enjoy, definitely give it a go!
