Luck O’ The Irish Slot ReviewLeprechaun themed slots may not be as popular as they were back in the day, but they still hold on. Every now and then, another game reuses what is now a traditional theme! Some do it to appeal to nostalgia. Other developers want to give their own take on the theme that has captured the hearts and minds of players everywhere. Blueprint’s 2015 release would fall squarely in the first camp. If it were not for the fact it was designed from the ground up to be played in a certain way. Fun as it is, you really do need the Luck O’ The Irish to get a win out of this high volatility slot!

We, the Labslots team, really like the graphics, especially if you consider when this game first came out. It depicts a beautiful green field that stretches out to the horizon. We can make out an enchanted forest in the distance, though we do not get a good look at it. We can see the magical purple trees, but that is about it. The element that immediately catches your eye is the beautiful rainbow. The artists only went for three colours: red, yellow and green. As a result, the rainbow stands out even more when compared to the bright blue sky. Above the reels, lounging against a pile of gold, is the leprechaun mascot of this release. Sadly, there are no animations for him, unlike in some other titles created by this developer.

How it Win in Luck O’ The Irish

You play Luck O’ The Irish online slot on a five-reel board with ten fixed paylines, though they do not work like we are used to. It starts similar enough. Winning combinations are formed by collecting three or more matching symbols next to one another. However, winning combinations do not have to start with the leftmost reel. As long as three matching icons are in adjacent positions, the prize will be granted. Does not matter if it is smack-dab in the middle or if it starts with the rightmost reel instead. The control panel is the same one we are used to seeing from other Blueprint games. It is remarkably easy to use, which will help new players acclimate to this release. On the right side, you will find the Spin and Auto Play buttons. On the left are the Fortune Spins, Total Bet and settings buttons. Settings allows you to open a help page, look at the paytable or turn sound on or off. You can wager between £0.10 and £200.00 on each spin.

Luck O’ The Irish Wilds

Symbol designs look okay, but we were not terribly impressed by them. Luck O’ The Irish mostly works with playing card royals and valuable gems. They make for good filler icons, but that is all we have. The only unique looking symbol is a pot of gold! Of course, your mileage may differ. We know a fair number of players prefer simpler designs, since they remain consistent across slots. The game’s logo is a special icon, and only appears during Fortune Spins.

Luck O’ The Irish Bonus Rounds

For most titles, special features are something you unlock by luck. If you have the option to pay for it, it usually serves as a way to skip the grind. However, in this Blueprint release, it is the only way to trigger the sole special feature! Click the Fortune Spins button, and you will be taken to a separate screen. You get to play four fortune spins on four different reels. It also comes with its own separate wagers. The minimum bet is £2 while the maximum goes up to £200. The bonus benefits from the leprechaun symbol. If it lands on one reel, it will be duplicated on all of the other reels. The leprechaun transforms into one of the other icons when that reel stops spinning. It will become a different symbol for each of the four reels.

The Verdict of Luck O’ The Irish

We cannot think of many slots for online slot sites that would dare try what Luck O’ The Irish did. Having only one special feature and making you pay extra for it? Most software providers would fear the backlash too much to try it! It is a good thing that the experiment paid off. The graphics are great, there is no arguing with that. That said, the high volatility and increased costs make it difficult to recommend this game to casual punters. That said, if you have a sizeable budget and what you have read sounds interesting, then we recommend trying it!
