Intro: Game Theme
The background image is a closed curtain, indicating that this release is about cute cats competing for a title! We do like the design of the curtain. It has a strong pink colour in the middle, and gets progressively darker as you reach the edges. Small, white sparkles are overlaid on top of the curtain to add even more delightful details to the reels. One thing that becomes immediately clear is the absence of any animations. At least, as far as the background image is concerned! Symbols, meanwhile, have minor but interesting animations that play when they are part of a win. It helps all the competing kittens look even more adorable, if that is humanly possible!

How it Works
You play Cutie Cat on a five-reel board with 30 flexible paylines. The slot allows you to have ten, twenty or all thirty paylines active at the same time. This gives you more flexibility with the betting range, though less active paylines means a smaller chance to win. You need three matching icons next to one another to form a winning combination. The symbols have to start with the leftmost reel and follow an active payline in order to award a prize. The control panel is colourful and easy to use. The spin and Auto Play buttons are green. Max Bet is purple, drawing attention to itself and preventing you from accidentally clicking it. Meanwhile, buttons that serve to turn paylines on or off and change your bet are an orange colour. Above the reels, you can disable sound, toggle full screen or open the settings and paytable menus. Players can bet between £0.10 and £150 on each spin.
Icon designs are a mixture of playing card royals and cute kittens. Most games do not give us particularly interesting playing card royals, but that is not the case here. We like the letter J with a little mouse and the letter Q with a heart shape in the middle. The remaining playing card royals, while looking good, lack any identifiable traits like these two letters. Other symbols include four pretty cats that will charm the whole pageant. A white cat plays the important role of a Wild while a golden trophy is a Scatter icon.
Bonus Rounds
White Cat Wilds appear stacked on all reels. This comes along with their ability to substitute for all symbols except for Scatters. As a result, stacked Wilds will result in wins that are more frequent!
Scatters only appear in the first, third and fifth reel. This activates five free spins, during which additional Wilds are added to the reel. This increases the odds of getting fully stacked Wild reels! Furthermore, it is possible to win additional free spins while the bonus is being played.
You have access to two gamble bets. The first is the Card gamble, where you must pick a red or black colour. If the face down card’s colour matches your selection, then your win is doubled! Otherwise, you lose that round. Choose the half option to decrease how much you wager per gamble.
Meanwhile, the Ladder gamble requires you to land on a highlighted step when it is above your current step. If it lands below your current step, you descend down the ladder. Fall down the ladder enough times, and you lose all the money you gambled! Interestingly enough, you cannot play the Ladder gamble for particularly big wins.
Verdict
We imagine many players will not click with this theme. Liking cats is one thing, but a release full of nothing but kittens and pageants may be a bit too much. Once you get past the theme and impressive visuals, the gameplay on offer is a touch simplistic. The slot offers stacked Wilds and free spins. While not bad, it is rather limited in terms of available special features. We hope to see more special feature in future Gamomat slots!
