If you were hoping for a world made out of candy like Sweet Bonanza, we will have to disappoint you. Instead, Chocolates takes place in the middle of some beautiful nature. Right off the bat, we can see some massive snowy mountains out in the distance. Far from the warm spring area where the players are located. We can see flowers blooming, as well as rows of trees to your left. It is a rather idyllic place. Hats off to the developers, they have created a gorgeous looking release! Now let’s delve deeper into this new Labslots review.

How it Works
You play this online slot on a four-reel board with a ways to win system in place instead of traditional paylines. With ways to win, we cannot turn individual paylines on or off at our leisure. However, scoring a win has been simplified, which balances things out. To score a cash prize, you need three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. There is no longer a requirement to follow a strict payline in order to earn a prize. Ways to win are not fixed, and more can appear depending on special features. Big Time Gaming have designed a simple and easy to use user interface. We can use it to spin the reels, set up Auto Play, look at the paytable and change our total bet. You can wager between £0.10 and £25.00 on each spin.
Icon designs are a mix between playing card royals and four different types of chocolates. We would have liked to see a bit of extra effort to have gone into stylising the letters and numbers. Maybe making them look like they are made out of chocolate, or give them candy wrappers instead of standard colours. The four chocolate symbols look neat, but have been kept simple on purpose. After all, these four icons can split off to become smaller due to the available bonuses. That means the software provider needs them to be recognisable even when they are smaller. A unwrapped chocolate bar is the Wild, while a cuckoo clock serves as a Scatter.
Chocolates Bonus Rounds
Did you know that this game has two different Wilds? We have standard Wilds, and golden ticket Wilds. You can tell them apart in several ways. First is the fact the golden ticket Wild has more of the chocolate unwrapped than standard Wilds. Another difference is the fact the golden ticket Wild has a 6x multiplier attached to it! Both Wilds can only appear on reels two, three and four and both can substitute for any symbol except for Scatter and Box. The 6x multiplier is applied per golden ticket Wild. If you have more than one multiplier Wild, then the multipliers are multiplied between each other. This gives you a potential 216x increase on any win!
Purple boxes with the Big Time Gaming logo on them open to reveal up to four chocolate icons within. Each revealed chocolate added to the number of symbols on that reel, meaning it increases the number of ways to win. All chocolates in the box will be of the same type.
Land three or four Scatters in any position to win seven or ten free spins, respectively. Scatters do not appear during free spins, meaning we cannot retrigger the bonus. During free spins, all boxes become sticky boxes. If a reel has four sticky boxes, it awards an additional three free spins.
Verdict
Chocolates is an excellent title by Big Time Gaming. It is clearly inspired by their Megaways system, but it does not use it in its entirety. Rather than the height of each reel changing each spin, they can be increased occasionally using the purple chocolate boxes. These changes will not suit everyone, but we think most fans of this developer will love it. It offers a new way to enjoy Megaways while offering an excellent RTP and a 65,536x jackpot.
